Hey I’m Internet Anthropology! I make short form content on TikTok and Instagram that treats the internet like an anthropological field site. I like to think of every Tweet, TikTok, and YouTube comment as a cultural object worthy of study and cultural discourse.
I’m a Sociocultural Anthropologist (Columbia University M.A.) and futurist studying cultural shifts. My master’s work on the Anthropology of the Future examined how futurism think tanks, foresight agencies, and trend forecasting firms theorize cultural change to sell a seemingly impossible product — “knowledge of the future.” On this Substack I share my musings on the digital artifacts I gather from across the internet and what they can tell us about present and future cultural shifts.
